School Magazine Evaluation

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
On the front cover, I listed key articles from the magazine, as seen on the cover of CHiLL. I used a large, school-related image, as seen on the cover of Top Terrace. As with Bishopbriggs Academy Magazine, the school’s logo is featured prominently. I also used a separate font for the magazine’s title and the features, as seen on Evolve. On the contents page, I used a similar format to CHiLL, with the main articles inside listed in a side bar, and images used to illustrate them.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I learnt a lot of new Photoshop skills, such as different ways of selecting areas, and learned a lot about layout on pages and how to produce more interesting layouts. I also reaffirmed my knowledge in using studio lights for taking photographs, and examined the conventions of magazine photography.
